Instead of thinking about emotional problems through the constant filters of shame and guilt, one could see behavior as a result of brain chemistry gone awry, remaining in a closed loop of repetitive, unsatisfying reactions to situational dilemma that is only perpetuated by the unconscious mechanisms which circumvent adaptive modifications that have the potentials for ameliorative changes. Situational anxiety can only be alleviated by situational changes. If one cannot create these changes without falling back into the perpetuation of stasis, largely resistant to modification, it is likely that professional help should be sought; otherwise, the self-destructive and reactive mindsets that have been chemically ingrained and which control subsequent thinking will be continually manipulated by the habitual devices which the brain has "learned" to employ for the ...
